Nicolaitanes - from the Greek word NikolaithV - Nikolaites - nik-ol-ah-ee'-tace, Strong #3531, from NikolaoV - Nikolaos 3532; a Nicolaite, i.e. adherent of Nicolaus:--Nicolaitane.

The root word is NikolaoV - Nikolaos - nik-ol'-ah-os, Strongs 3532 - from nikoV - nikos 3534 and LaodikeuV - Laodikeus 2994; victorious over the people; Nicolaus, a heretic:--Nicolaus.

These roots are:

nikoV - nikos nee'-kos Strongs 3534 - from nikh - nike 3529; a conquest (concretely), i.e. (by implication) triumph:--victory.

And,

LaodikeuV - Laodikeus - lah-od-ik-yooce' Strongs 2994 from Laodikeia - Laodikeia 2993; a Laodicean, i.e. inhabitant of Laodicia:--Laodicean.

And,

Laodikeia - Laodikeia - lah-od-ik'-i-ah Strongs 2993 from a compound of laoV - laos 2992 and dikh - dike 1349; Laodicia, a place in Asia Minor:--Laodicea.

And,

laoV - laos - lah-os' Strongs 2992 apparently a primary word; a people (in general; thus differing from dhmoV - demos 1218, which denotes one's own populace):--people.

And,

dikh - dike - dee'-kay Strongs 1349 - probably from deiknuw - deiknuo 1166; right (as self-evident), i.e. justice (the principle, a decision, or its execution):--judgment, punish, vengeance.
