The Fifth Book of Moses, called Deuteronomy

Chapter 30

1

And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come4 upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set1 before thee, and thou shalt call52 [them] to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven52 thee,

2

And shalt return1 unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey1 his voice according to all that I command18 thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;

3

That then the LORD thy God will turn1 thy captivity, and have compassion14 upon thee, and will return1 and gather14 thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered52 thee.

4

If [any] of thine be driven out12 unto the outmost [parts] of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather17 thee, and from thence will he fetch4 thee:

5

And the LORD thy God will bring52 thee into the land which thy fathers possessed,1 and thou shalt possess1 it; and he will do thee good,52 and multiply52 thee above thy fathers.

6

And the LORD thy God will circumcise1 thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love2 the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

7

And the LORD thy God will put1 all these curses upon thine enemies,6 and on them that hate6 thee, which persecuted1 thee.

8

And thou shalt return4 and obey1 the voice of the LORD, and do1 all his commandments which I command18 thee this day.

9

And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous52 in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again4 rejoice2 over thee for good, as he rejoiced1 over thy fathers:

10

If thou shalt hearken4 unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep2 his commandments and his statutes which are written7 in this book of the law, [and] if thou turn4 unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.

11

For this commandment which I command18 thee this day, it [is] not hidden12 from thee, neither [is] it far off.

12

It [is] not in heaven, that thou shouldest say,2 Who shall go up4 for us to heaven, and bring4 it unto us, that we may hear55 it, and do4 it?

13

Neither [is] it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say,2 Who shall go4 over the sea for us, and bring4 it unto us, that we may hear55 it, and do4 it?

14

But the word [is] very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do2 it.

15

See,3 I have set1 before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

16

In that I command18 thee this day to love2 the LORD thy God, to walk2 in his ways, and to keep2 his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live1 and multiply:1 and the LORD thy God shall bless14 thee in the land whither thou goest6 to possess2 it.

17

But if thine heart turn away,4 so that thou wilt not hear,4 but shalt be drawn away,8 and worship98 other gods, and serve1 them;

18

I denounce52 unto you this day, that ye shall surely2 perish,4 [and that] ye shall not prolong55 [your] days upon the land, whither thou passest over6 Jordan to go2 to possess2 it.

19

I call heaven and earth to record52 this day against you, [that] I have set1 before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose1 life, that both thou and thy seed may live:4

20

That thou mayest love2 the LORD thy God, [and] that thou mayest obey2 his voice, and that thou mayest cleave2 unto him: for he [is] thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell2 in the land which the LORD sware8 unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give2 them.
