Job 34 | King James Bible |
Chapter 35 | |
| |
| Thinkest1 thou this to be right, [that] thou saidst,1 My righteousness [is] more than God's? |
| For thou saidst,4 What advantage4 will it be unto thee? [and], What profit55 shall I have, [if I be cleansed] from my sin? |
| I will answer55 4405 thee, and thy companions with thee. |
| Look54 unto the heavens, and see;3 and behold3 the clouds [which] are higher1 than thou. |
| If thou sinnest,1 what doest4 thou against him? or [if] thy transgressions be multiplied,1 what doest4 thou unto him? |
| If thou be righteous,1 what givest4 thou him? or what receiveth4 he of thine hand? |
| Thy wickedness [may hurt] a man as thou [art]; and thy righteousness [may profit] the son of man. |
| By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make [the oppressed] to cry:55 they cry out17 by reason of the arm of the mighty. |
| But none saith,1 Where [is] God my maker,6 who giveth6 songs in the night; |
| Who teacheth18 us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser17 than the fowls of heaven? |
| There they cry,4 but none giveth answer,4 because of the pride of evil men. |
| Surely God will not hear4 vanity, neither will the Almighty regard4 it. |
| Although thou sayest4 thou shalt not see4 him, [yet] judgment [is] before him; therefore trust34 thou in him. |
| But now, because [it is] not [so], he hath visited1 in his anger; yet he knoweth1 [it] not in great extremity: |
| Therefore doth Job open4 his mouth in vain; he multiplieth55 words without knowledge. |
