Chapter 28

[A Psalm] of David.
Unto thee will I cry,⁴ O LORD my rock; be not silent⁴ to me: lest, [if] thou be silent⁴ to me, I become like⁸ them that go down⁶ into the pit.

Hear³ the voice of my supplications, when I cry¹⁵ unto thee, when I lift up² my hands toward thy holy oracle.

Draw⁴ me not away with the wicked, and with the workers⁶ of iniquity, which speak⁶ peace to their neighbours, but mischief [is] in their hearts.

Give³ them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give³ them after the work of their hands; render⁵⁴ to them their desert.

Because they regard⁴ not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy⁴ them, and not build them up.⁴

Blessed⁷ [be] the LORD, because he hath heard¹ the voice of my supplications.

The LORD [is] my strength and my shield; my heart trusted¹ in him, and I am helped:⁸ therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth;⁴ and with my song will I praise⁵⁵ him.

The LORD [is] their strength, and he [is] the saving strength of his anointed.

Save⁵⁴ thy people, and bless¹⁶ thine inheritance: feed³ them also, and lift them up¹⁶ for ever.
