Psalms 36 | King James Bible |
Chapter 37 | |
| [A Psalm] of David. |
| For they shall soon be cut down4 like the grass, and wither4 as the green herb. |
| Trust3 in the LORD, and do3 good; [so] shalt thou dwell3 in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.3 |
| Delight100 thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give4 thee the desires of thine heart. |
| Commit3 thy way unto the LORD; trust3 also in him; and he shall bring [it] to pass.4 |
| And he shall bring forth52 thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. |
| Rest3 in the LORD, and wait patiently112 for him: fret101 not thyself because of him who prospereth56 in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.6 |
| Cease54 from anger, and forsake3 wrath: fret101 not thyself in any wise to do evil.53 |
| For evildoers56 shall be cut off:11 but those that wait6 upon the LORD, they shall inherit4 the earth. |
| For yet a little while, and the wicked [shall] not [be]: yea, thou shalt diligently consider110 his place, and it [shall] not [be]. |
| But the meek shall inherit4 the earth; and shall delight98 themselves in the abundance of peace. |
| The wicked plotteth6 against the just, and gnasheth6 upon him with his teeth. |
| The Lord shall laugh4 at him: for he seeth1 that his day is coming.4 |
| The wicked have drawn out1 the sword, and have bent1 their bow, to cast down53 the poor and needy, [and] to slay2 such as be of upright conversation. |
| Their sword shall enter4 into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.11 |
| A little that a righteous man hath [is] better than the riches of many wicked. |
| For the arms of the wicked shall be broken:11 but the LORD upholdeth6 the righteous. |
| The LORD knoweth6 the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. |
| They shall not be ashamed4 in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.4 |
| But the wicked shall perish,4 and the enemies6 of the LORD [shall be] as the fat of lambs: they shall consume;1 into smoke shall they consume away.1 |
| The wicked borroweth,5 and payeth17 not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy,6 and giveth.6 |
| For [such as be] blessed30 of him shall inherit4 the earth; and [they that be] cursed30 of him shall be cut off.11 |
| The steps of a [good] man are ordered49 by the LORD: and he delighteth4 in his way. |
| Though he fall,4 he shall not be utterly cast down:93 for the LORD upholdeth6 [him with] his hand. |
| I have been young, and [now] am old;1 yet have I not seen1 the righteous forsaken,12 nor his seed begging18 bread. |
| [He is] ever 3117 merciful,6 and lendeth;56 and his seed [is] blessed. |
| |
| For the LORD loveth6 judgment, and forsaketh4 not his saints; they are preserved8 for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.8 |
| The righteous shall inherit4 the land, and dwell4 therein for ever. |
| The mouth of the righteous speaketh4 wisdom, and his tongue talketh17 of judgment. |
| The law of his God [is] in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.4 |
| The wicked watcheth6 the righteous, and seeketh18 to slay53 him. |
| The LORD will not leave4 him in his hand, nor condemn55 him when he is judged.9 |
| Wait16 on the LORD, and keep3 his way, and he shall exalt34 thee to inherit2 the land: when the wicked are cut off,9 thou shalt see4 [it]. |
| I have seen1 the wicked in great power, and spreading102 himself like a green bay tree. |
| Yet he passed away,4 and, lo, he [was] not: yea, I sought17 him, but he could not be found.8 |
| Mark3 the perfect [man], and behold3 the upright: for the end of [that] man [is] peace. |
| But the transgressors6 shall be destroyed8 together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.8 |
| But the salvation of the righteous [is] of the LORD: [he is] their strength in the time of trouble. |
| And the LORD shall help4 them, and deliver17 them: he shall deliver17 them from the wicked, and save55 them, because they trust1 in him. |
