Chapter 60

1

To the chief Musician18 upon Shushaneduth, 5715 7802 Michtam of David, to teach;15 when he strove53 with Aramnaharaim 5104 763 and with Aramzobah, 6678 760 when Joab returned,4 and smote55 of Edom in the valley of salt twelve 6240 thousand.
O God, thou hast cast us off,1 thou hast scattered1 us, thou hast been displeased;1 O turn thyself to us again.34

2

Thou hast made the earth to tremble;52 thou hast broken1 it: heal3 the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.1

3

Thou hast shewed52 thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink52 the wine of astonishment.

4

Thou hast given1 a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed111 because of the truth. Selah.

5

That thy beloved may be delivered;11 save54 [with] thy right hand, and hear3 me.

6

God hath spoken14 in his holiness; I will rejoice,4 I will divide17 Shechem, and mete out17 the valley of Succoth.

7

Gilead [is] mine, and Manasseh [is] mine; Ephraim also [is] the strength of mine head; Judah [is] my lawgiver;26

8

Moab [is] my washpot; 7366 over Edom will I cast55 out my shoe: Philistia, triumph112 thou because of me.

9

Who will bring55 me [into] the strong city? who will lead1 me into Edom?

10

[Wilt] not thou, O God, [which] hadst cast us off?1 and [thou], O God, [which] didst not go out4 with our armies?

11

Give3 us help from trouble: for vain [is] the help of man.

12

Through God we shall do4 valiantly: for he [it is that] shall tread down4 our enemies.
