Chapter 82

A Psalm of Asaph.
God standeth¹² in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth⁴ among the gods.

How long will ye judge⁴ unjustly, and accept⁴ the persons of the wicked? Selah.

Defend³ the poor and fatherless: do justice⁵⁴ to the afflicted and needy.⁶

Deliver¹⁶ the poor and needy: rid⁵⁴ [them] out of the hand of the wicked.

They know¹ not, neither will they understand;⁴ they walk¹⁰¹ on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.¹¹

I have said,¹ Ye [are] gods; and all of you [are] children of the most High.

But ye shall die⁴ like men, and fall⁴ like one of the princes.

Arise,³ O God, judge³ the earth: for thou shalt inherit⁴ all nations.
