Chapter 84

To the chief Musician¹⁸ upon Gittith, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.
How amiable [are] thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!

My soul longeth,⁸ yea, even fainteth¹ for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out¹⁷ for the living God.

Yea, the sparrow hath found¹ an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay¹ her young, [even] thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.

Blessed [are] they that dwell⁶ in thy house: they will be still praising¹⁷ thee. Selah.

Blessed [is] the man whose strength [is] in thee; in whose heart [are] the ways [of them].

[Who] passing⁶ through the valley of Baca ¹⁰⁵⁷ make⁴ it a well; the rain also filleth⁴ the pools.

They go⁴ from strength to strength, [every one of them] in Zion appeareth¹¹ before God.

O LORD God of hosts, hear³ my prayer: give ear,⁵⁴ O God of Jacob. Selah.

Behold,³ O God our shield, and look upon⁵⁴ the face of thine anointed.

For a day in thy courts [is] better than a thousand. I had rather¹ be a doorkeeper¹⁰⁶ in the house of my God, than to dwell² in the tents of wickedness.

For the LORD God [is] a sun and shield: the LORD will give⁴ grace and glory: no good [thing] will he withhold⁴ from them that walk⁶ uprightly.

O LORD of hosts, blessed [is] the man that trusteth⁶ in thee.
