Chapter 105

1

O give thanks54 unto the LORD; call3 upon his name: make known54 his deeds among the people.

2

Sing3 unto him, sing psalms16 unto him: talk3 ye of all his wondrous works.12

3

Glory100 ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice4 that seek18 the LORD.

4

Seek3 the LORD, and his strength: seek16 his face evermore.

5

Remember3 his marvellous works12 that he hath done;1 his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

6

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

7

He [is] the LORD our God: his judgments [are] in all the earth.

8

He hath remembered1 his covenant for ever, the word [which] he commanded14 to a thousand generations.

9

Which [covenant] he made1 with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;

10

And confirmed55 the same unto Jacob for a law, [and] to Israel [for] an everlasting covenant:

11

Saying,2 Unto thee will I give4 the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:

12

When they were [but] a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers6 in it.

13

When they went101 from one nation to another, from [one] kingdom to another people;

14

He suffered52 no man to do them wrong:2 yea, he reproved55 kings for their sakes;

15

[Saying], Touch4 not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.55

16

Moreover he called4 for a famine upon the land: he brake1 the whole staff of bread.

17

He sent1 a man before them, [even] Joseph, [who] was sold8 for a servant:

18

Whose feet they hurt14 with fetters: he was laid1 in iron:

19

Until the time that his word came:2 the word of the LORD tried1 him.

20

The king sent1 and loosed55 him; [even] the ruler6 of the people, and let him go free.17

21

He made1 him lord of his house, and ruler6 of all his substance:

22

To bind2 his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.17

23

Israel also came4 into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned1 in the land of Ham.

24

And he increased55 his people greatly; and made them stronger55 than their enemies.

25

He turned1 their heart to hate2 his people, to deal subtilly99 with his servants.

26

He sent1 Moses his servant; [and] Aaron whom he had chosen.1

27

They shewed1 his signs 1697 among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.

28

He sent1 darkness, and made it dark;55 and they rebelled1 not against his word.

29

He turned1 their waters into blood, and slew55 their fish.

30

Their land brought forth frogs in abundance,1 in the chambers of their kings.

31

He spake,1 and there came4 divers sorts of flies, [and] lice in all their coasts.

32

He gave1 them hail for rain, [and] flaming fire in their land.

33

He smote55 their vines also and their fig trees; and brake17 the trees of their coasts.

34

He spake,1 and the locusts came,4 and caterpillers, and that without number,

35

And did eat4 up all the herbs in their land, and devoured4 the fruit of their ground.

36

He smote55 also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.

37

He brought them forth55 also with silver and gold: and [there was] not one feeble6 [person] among their tribes.

38

Egypt was glad1 when they departed:2 for the fear of them fell1 upon them.

39

He spread1 a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light53 in the night.

40

[The people] asked,1 and he brought55 quails, and satisfied55 them with the bread of heaven.

41

He opened1 the rock, and the waters gushed out;4 they ran1 in the dry places [like] a river.

42

For he remembered1 his holy promise, [and] Abraham his servant.

43

And he brought forth55 his people with joy, [and] his chosen with gladness:

44

And gave4 them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited4 the labour of the people;

45

That they might observe4 his statutes, and keep4 his laws. Praise16 ye the LORD.
