Chapter 108

A Song [or] Psalm of David.
O God, my heart is fixed;¹² I will sing⁴ and give praise,¹⁷ even with my glory.

Awake,³ psaltery and harp: I [myself] will awake⁵⁵ early.

I will praise⁵⁵ thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises¹⁷ unto thee among the nations.

For thy mercy [is] great above the heavens: and thy truth [reacheth] unto the clouds.

Be thou exalted,³ O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth;

That thy beloved may be delivered:¹¹ save⁵⁴ [with] thy right hand, and answer³ me.

God hath spoken¹⁴ in his holiness; I will rejoice,⁴ I will divide¹⁷ Shechem, and mete out¹⁷ the valley of Succoth.

Gilead [is] mine; Manasseh [is] mine; Ephraim also [is] the strength of mine head; Judah [is] my lawgiver;²⁶

Moab [is] my washpot; ⁵⁵¹⁸ over Edom will I cast out⁵⁵ my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.¹¹³

Who will bring⁵⁵ me into the strong city? who will lead¹ me into Edom?

[Wilt] not [thou], O God, [who] hast cast us off?¹ and wilt not thou, O God, go forth⁴ with our hosts?

Give³ us help from trouble: for vain [is] the help of man.

Through God we shall do⁴ valiantly: for he [it is that] shall tread down⁴ our enemies.
