Chapter 120

A Song of degrees.
In my distress I cried¹ unto the LORD, and he heard⁴ me.

Deliver⁵⁴ my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, [and] from a deceitful tongue.

What shall be given⁴ unto thee? or what shall be done⁵⁵ unto thee, thou false tongue?

Sharp⁶ arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

Woe is me, that I sojourn¹ in Mesech, [that] I dwell¹ in the tents of Kedar!

My soul hath long dwelt¹ with him that hateth⁶ peace.

I [am for] peace: but when I speak,¹⁷ they [are] for war.
