Psalms 136 | King James Bible |
Chapter 137 | |
| By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down,1 yea, we wept,1 when we remembered2 Zion. |
| |
| For there they that carried us away captive6 required1 of us a song; 7892 and they that wasted us [required of us] mirth, [saying], Sing3 us [one] of the songs of Zion. |
| |
| If I forget4 thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget4 [her cunning]. |
| If I do not remember4 thee, let my tongue cleave4 to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer55 not Jerusalem above my chief joy. |
| Remember,3 O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said,6 Rase16 [it], rase16 [it, even] to the foundation thereof. |
| O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed;7 happy [shall he be], that rewardeth17 thee as thou hast served1 1576 us. |
| Happy [shall he be], that taketh4 and dasheth14 thy little ones against the stones. |
