Chapter 146

Praise¹⁶ ye the LORD. Praise¹⁶ the LORD, O my soul.

While I live will I praise¹⁷ the LORD: I will sing praises¹⁷ unto my God while I have any being.

Put not your trust⁴ in princes, [nor] in the son of man, in whom [there is] no help.

His breath goeth forth,⁴ he returneth⁴ to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.¹

Happy [is he] that [hath] the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope [is] in the LORD his God:

Which made⁶ heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein [is]: which keepeth⁶ truth for ever:

Which executeth⁶ judgment for the oppressed:⁷ which giveth⁶ food to the hungry. The LORD looseth⁵⁶ the prisoners:⁷

The LORD openeth⁶ [the eyes of] the blind: the LORD raiseth⁶ them that are bowed down:⁷ the LORD loveth⁶ the righteous:

The LORD preserveth⁶ the strangers; he relieveth⁴¹ the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.¹⁷

The LORD shall reign⁴ for ever, [even] thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise¹⁶ ye the LORD.
