The Book of the Prophet Isaiah

Chapter 62

1

For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace,4 and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest,4 until the righteousness thereof go forth4 as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp [that] burneth.4

2

And the Gentiles shall see1 thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called27 by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.4

3

Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.

4

Thou shalt no more be termed11 Forsaken;7 neither shall thy land any more be termed11 Desolate: but thou shalt be called11 Hephzibah, 2657 and thy land Beulah:7 for the LORD delighteth1 in thee, and thy land shall be married.11

5

For [as] a young man marrieth4 a virgin, [so] shall thy sons marry4 thee: and [as] the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, [so] shall thy God rejoice4 over thee.

6

I have set52 watchmen6 upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, [which] shall never 8548 hold their peace4 day nor night: ye that make mention56 of the LORD, keep not silence,

7

And give4 him no rest, till he establish,34 and till he make4 Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

8

The LORD hath sworn8 by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give4 thy corn [to be] meat for thine enemies;6 and the sons of the stranger shall not drink4 thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:1

9

But they that have gathered18 it shall eat4 it, and praise14 the LORD; and they that have brought it together18 shall drink4 it in the courts of my holiness.

10

Go through,3 go through3 the gates; prepare16 ye the way of the people; cast up,3 cast up3 the highway; gather out16 the stones; lift up54 a standard for the people.

11

Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed52 unto the end of the world, Say3 ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh;6 behold, his reward [is] with him, and his work before him.

12

And they shall call1 them, The holy people, The redeemed7 of the LORD: and thou shalt be called,11 Sought out,7 A city not forsaken.12
