Jeremiah 29 | King James Bible |
Chapter 30 | |
| |
| Thus speaketh1 the LORD God of Israel, saying,2 Write3 thee all the words that I have spoken14 unto thee in a book. |
| For, lo, the days come,6 saith7 the LORD, that I will bring again1 the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith1 the LORD: and I will cause them to return52 to the land that I gave1 to their fathers, and they shall possess1 it. |
| And these [are] the words that the LORD spake14 concerning Israel and concerning Judah. |
| For thus saith1 the LORD; We have heard1 a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. |
| Ask3 ye now, and see3 whether a man doth travail with child?6 wherefore do I see1 every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail,6 and all faces are turned8 into paleness? |
| Alas! for that day [is] great, so that none [is] like it: it [is] even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved11 out of it. |
| For it shall come to pass in that day, saith7 the LORD of hosts, [that] I will break4 his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst17 thy bonds, and strangers5 shall no more serve4 themselves of him: |
| But they shall serve1 the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up55 unto them. |
| Therefore fear4 thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith7 the LORD; neither be dismayed,11 O Israel: for, lo, I will save56 thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return,1 and shall be in rest,1 and be quiet,40 and none shall make [him] afraid.56 |
| For I [am] with thee, saith7 the LORD, to save53 thee: though I make4 a full end of all nations whither I have scattered52 thee, yet will I not make4 a full end of thee: but I will correct14 thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether15 unpunished.17 |
| For thus saith1 the LORD, Thy bruise [is] incurable,7 [and] thy wound [is] grievous.12 |
| [There is] none to plead6 thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines. |
| All thy lovers18 have forgotten1 thee; they seek4 thee not; for I have wounded52 thee with the wound of an enemy,6 with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; [because] thy sins were increased.1 |
| Why criest4 thou for thine affliction? thy sorrow [is] incurable7 for the multitude of thine iniquity: [because] thy sins were increased,1 I have done1 these things unto thee. |
| Therefore all they that devour6 thee shall be devoured;11 and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go4 into captivity; and they that spoil6 8154 6 thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey6 upon thee will I give4 for a prey. |
| For I will restore55 health unto thee, and I will heal4 thee of thy wounds, saith7 the LORD; because they called1 thee an Outcast,12 [saying], This [is] Zion, whom no man seeketh after.6 |
| Thus saith1 the LORD; Behold, I will bring again6 the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy17 on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded8 upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain4 after the manner thereof. |
| And out of them shall proceed1 thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry:18 and I will multiply52 them, and they shall not be few;4 I will also glorify52 them, and they shall not be small.4 |
| Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established11 before me, and I will punish1 all that oppress5 them. |
| And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor6 shall proceed4 from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near,52 and he shall approach8 unto me: for who [is] this that engaged1 his heart to approach2 unto me? saith7 the LORD. |
| |
| Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD goeth forth1 with fury, a continuing109 whirlwind: it shall fall with pain4 upon the head of the wicked. |
| The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return,4 until he have done2 [it], and until he have performed53 the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider113 it. |
