Jeremiah 44 | King James Bible |
Chapter 45 | |
1 | The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake14 unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written2 these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,2 |
2 | Thus saith1 the LORD, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch; |
3 | Thou didst say,1 Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added1 grief to my sorrow; I fainted1 in my sighing, and I find1 no rest. |
4 | Thus shalt thou say4 unto him, The LORD saith1 thus; Behold, [that] which I have built1 will I break down,6 and that which I have planted1 I will pluck up,6 even this whole land. |
5 | And seekest17 thou great things for thyself? seek17 [them] not: for, behold, I will bring56 evil upon all flesh, saith7 the LORD: but thy life will I give1 unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.4 |
