Chapter 2

And he said⁴ unto me, Son of man, stand³ upon thy feet, and I will speak¹⁷ unto thee.

And the spirit entered⁴ into me when he spake¹⁴ unto me, and set⁵⁵ me upon my feet, that I heard⁴ him that spake¹⁰² unto me.

And he said⁴ unto me, Son of man, I send⁶ thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious⁶ nation that hath rebelled¹ against me: they and their fathers have transgressed¹ against me, [even] unto this very day.

For [they are] impudent ⁶⁴⁴⁰ children and stiffhearted. ³⁸²⁰ I do send⁶ thee unto them; and thou shalt say¹ unto them, Thus saith¹ the Lord GOD.

And they, whether they will hear,⁴ or whether they will forbear,⁴ (for they [are] a rebellious house,) yet shall know¹ that there hath been a prophet among them.

And thou, son of man, be not afraid⁴ of them, neither be afraid⁴ of their words, though briers and thorns [be] with thee, and thou dost dwell⁶ among scorpions: be not afraid⁴ of their words, nor be dismayed¹¹ at their looks, though they [be] a rebellious house.

And thou shalt speak¹⁴ my words unto them, whether they will hear,⁴ or whether they will forbear:⁴ for they [are] most rebellious.

But thou, son of man, hear³ what I say¹⁸ unto thee; Be⁴ not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open³ thy mouth, and eat³ that I give⁶ thee.

And when I looked,⁴ behold, an hand [was] sent⁷ unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book [was] therein;

And he spread⁴ it before me; and it [was] written⁷ within and without: and [there was] written⁷ therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
