The Book of the Prophet Ezekiel

Chapter 34

1

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,2

2

Son of man, prophesy10 against the shepherds6 of Israel, prophesy,10 and say1 unto them, Thus saith1 the Lord GOD unto the shepherds;6 Woe [be] to the shepherds6 of Israel that do feed6 themselves! should not the shepherds6 feed4 the flocks?

3

Ye eat4 the fat, and ye clothe4 you with the wool, ye kill4 them that are fed: [but] ye feed4 not the flock.

4

The diseased12 have ye not strengthened,14 neither have ye healed14 that which was sick,6 neither have ye bound up1 [that which was] broken,12 neither have ye brought again52 that which was driven away,12 neither have ye sought14 that which was lost;6 but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled1 them.

5

And they were scattered,4 because [there is] no shepherd:6 and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.4

6

My sheep wandered4 through all the mountains, and upon every high6 hill: yea, my flock was scattered8 upon all the face of the earth, and none did search6 or seek18 [after them].

7

Therefore, ye shepherds,6 hear3 the word of the LORD;

8

[As] I live, saith7 the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because [there was] no shepherd,6 neither did my shepherds6 search1 for my flock, but the shepherds6 fed4 themselves, and fed1 not my flock;

9

Therefore, O ye shepherds,6 hear3 the word of the LORD;

10

Thus saith1 the Lord GOD; Behold, I [am] against the shepherds;6 and I will require1 my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease52 from feeding2 the flock; neither shall the shepherds6 feed4 themselves any more; for I will deliver52 my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.

11

For thus saith1 the Lord GOD; Behold, I, [even] I, will both search1 my sheep, and seek them out.14

12

As a shepherd6 seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep [that are] scattered;12 so will I seek out17 my sheep, and will deliver52 them out of all places where they have been scattered8 in the cloudy and dark day.

13

And I will bring them out52 from the people, and gather14 them from the countries, and will bring52 them to their own land, and feed1 them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.

14

I will feed4 them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie4 in a good fold, and [in] a fat pasture shall they feed4 upon the mountains of Israel.

15

I will feed4 my flock, and I will cause them to lie down,55 saith7 the Lord GOD.

16

I will seek17 that which was lost,6 and bring again55 that which was driven away,12 and will bind up4 [that which was] broken,12 and will strengthen17 that which was sick:6 but I will destroy55 the fat and the strong; I will feed4 them with judgment.

17

And [as for] you, O my flock, thus saith1 the Lord GOD; Behold, I judge6 between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats.

18

[Seemeth it] a small thing unto you to have eaten up4 the good pasture, but ye must tread down4 with your feet the residue of your pastures? and to have drunk4 of the deep waters, but ye must foul4 the residue12 with your feet?

19

And [as for] my flock, they eat4 that which ye have trodden with your feet; and they drink4 that which ye have fouled with your feet.

20

Therefore thus saith1 the Lord GOD unto them; Behold, I, [even] I, will judge1 between the fat cattle and between the lean cattle.

21

Because ye have thrust4 with side and with shoulder, and pushed17 all the diseased12 with your horns, till ye have scattered52 them abroad;

22

Therefore will I save52 my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge1 between cattle and cattle.

23

And I will set up52 one shepherd6 over them, and he shall feed1 them, [even] my servant David; he shall feed4 them, and he shall be their shepherd.6

24

And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken14 [it].

25

And I will make1 with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease52 out of the land: and they shall dwell1 safely in the wilderness, and sleep1 in the woods. 3264

26

And I will make1 them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down52 in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.

27

And the tree of the field shall yield1 her fruit, and the earth shall yield4 her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know1 that I [am] the LORD, when I have broken2 the bands of their yoke, and delivered52 them out of the hand of those that served6 themselves of them.

28

And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour4 them; but they shall dwell1 safely, and none shall make [them] afraid.56

29

And I will raise up52 for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed7 with hunger in the land, neither bear4 the shame of the heathen any more.

30

Thus shall they know1 that I the LORD their God [am] with them, and [that] they, [even] the house of Israel, [are] my people, saith7 the Lord GOD.

31

And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, [are] men, [and] I [am] your God, saith7 the Lord GOD.
