The Book of Zechariah

Chapter 2

1

I lifted up4 mine eyes again, and looked,4 and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.

2

Then said4 I, Whither goest6 thou? And he said4 unto me, To measure2 Jerusalem, to see2 what [is] the breadth thereof, and what [is] the length thereof.

3

And, behold, the angel that talked6 with me went forth,6 and another angel went out6 to meet2 him,

4

And said4 unto him, Run,3 speak16 to this young man, saying,2 Jerusalem shall be inhabited4 [as] towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:

5

For I, saith7 the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.

6

Ho, ho, [come forth], and flee3 from the land of the north, saith7 the LORD: for I have spread you abroad14 as the four winds of the heaven, saith7 the LORD.

7

Deliver10 thyself, O Zion, that dwellest6 [with] the daughter of Babylon.

8

For thus saith1 the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent1 me unto the nations which spoiled6 you: for he that toucheth6 you toucheth6 the apple of his eye.

9

For, behold, I will shake56 mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants:6 and ye shall know1 that the LORD of hosts hath sent1 me.

10

Sing3 and rejoice,3 O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come,6 and I will dwell1 in the midst of thee, saith7 the LORD.

11

And many nations shall be joined8 to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell1 in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know1 that the LORD of hosts hath sent1 me unto thee.

12

And the LORD shall inherit1 Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose1 Jerusalem again.

13

Be silent,16 O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up8 out of his holy habitation.
