The Book of Zechariah

Chapter 6

1

And I turned,4 and lifted up4 mine eyes, and looked,4 and, behold, there came four chariots out6 from between two mountains; and the mountains [were] mountains of brass.

2

In the first chariot [were] red horses; and in the second chariot black horses;

3

And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses.

4

Then I answered4 and said4 unto the angel that talked6 with me, What [are] these, my lord?

5

And the angel answered4 and said4 unto me, These [are] the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth6 from standing99 before the Lord of all the earth.

6

The black horses which [are] therein go forth6 into the north country; and the white go forth1 after them; and the grisled go forth1 toward the south country.

7

And the bay went forth,1 and sought17 to go2 that they might walk to and fro99 through the earth: and he said,4 Get you hence,3 walk to and fro100 through the earth. So they walked to and fro101 through the earth.

8

Then cried55 he upon me, and spake17 unto me, saying,2 Behold,3 these that go6 toward the north country have quieted52 my spirit in the north country.

9

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,2

10

Take2 of [them of] the captivity, [even] of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come1 from Babylon, and come1 thou the same day, and go1 into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah;

11

Then take1 silver and gold, and make1 crowns, and set1 [them] upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;

12

And speak1 unto him, saying,2 Thus speaketh1 the LORD of hosts, saying,2 Behold the man whose name [is] The BRANCH; and he shall grow up4 out of his place, and he shall build1 the temple of the LORD:

13

Even he shall build4 the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear4 the glory, and shall sit1 and rule1 upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

14

And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the LORD.

15

And they [that are] far off shall come4 and build1 in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know1 that the LORD of hosts hath sent1 me unto you. And [this] shall come to pass, if ye will diligently2 obey4 the voice of the LORD your God.
