The Book of Zechariah

Chapter 13

1

In that day there shall be a fountain opened12 to the house of David and to the inhabitants6 of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.

2

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith7 the LORD of hosts, [that] I will cut off55 the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered:11 and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass55 out of the land.

3

And it shall come to pass, [that] when any shall yet prophesy,11 then his father and his mother that begat6 him shall say1 unto him, Thou shalt not live;4 for thou speakest14 lies in the name of the LORD: and his father and his mother that begat6 him shall thrust1 him through when he prophesieth.9

4

And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the prophets shall be ashamed4 every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied;9 neither shall they wear4 a rough garment to deceive:15

5

But he shall say,1 I [am] no prophet, I [am] an husbandman; 5647 6 127 for man taught me to keep52 cattle from my youth.

6

And [one] shall say1 unto him, What [are] these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer,1 [Those] with which I was wounded90 [in] the house of my friends.18

7

Awake,3 O sword, against my shepherd,6 and against the man [that is] my fellow, saith7 the LORD of hosts: smite54 the shepherd,6 and the sheep shall be scattered:4 and I will turn52 mine hand upon the little ones.6

8

And it shall come to pass, [that] in all the land, saith7 the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off11 [and] die;4 but the third shall be left11 therein.

9

And I will bring52 the third part through the fire, and will refine1 them as silver is refined,2 and will try1 them as gold is tried:2 they shall call4 on my name, and I will hear4 them: I will say,1 It [is] my people: and they shall say,4 The LORD [is] my God.
