Psalms 8 | King James Bible |
Chapter 9 | |
| To the chief Musician18 upon Muthlabben, 1121 A Psalm of David. |
| I will be glad4 and rejoice4 in thee: I will sing praise17 to thy name, O thou most High. |
| When mine enemies6 are turned2 back, they shall fall11 and perish4 at thy presence. |
| For thou hast maintained1 my right and my cause; thou satest1 in the throne judging6 right. |
| Thou hast rebuked1 the heathen, thou hast destroyed14 the wicked, thou hast put out1 their name for ever and ever. |
| O thou enemy,6 destructions are come to a perpetual end:1 and thou hast destroyed1 cities; 5892 their memorial is perished1 with them. |
| But the LORD shall endure4 for ever: he hath prepared31 his throne for judgment. |
| And he shall judge4 the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment4 to the people in uprightness. |
| The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. |
| And they that know6 thy name will put their trust4 in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken1 them that seek6 thee. |
| Sing praises16 to the LORD, which dwelleth6 in Zion: declare54 among the people his doings. |
| When he maketh inquisition6 for blood, he remembereth1 them: he forgetteth1 not the cry of the humble. 6041 |
| Have mercy3 upon me, O LORD; consider3 my trouble [which I suffer] of them that hate6 me, thou that liftest me up35 from the gates of death: |
| That I may shew forth17 all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice4 in thy salvation. |
| The heathen are sunk1 down in the pit [that] they made:1 in the net which they hid1 is their own foot taken.8 |
| The LORD is known8 [by] the judgment [which] he executeth:1 the wicked is snared1 in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah. |
| The wicked shall be turned4 into hell, [and] all the nations that forget God. |
| For the needy shall not alway be forgotten:11 the expectation of the poor 6035 shall [not] perish4 for ever. |
| Arise,3 O LORD; let not man prevail:4 let the heathen be judged11 in thy sight. |
| Put3 them in fear, 4172 O LORD: [that] the nations may know4 themselves [to be but] men. Selah. |
