Chapter 16

kai hkousa fwnhV megalhV ek tou naou legoushV toiV epta aggeloiV upagete kai ekceate taV fialaV tou qumou tou qeou eiV thn ghn
16:1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

kai aphlqen o prwtoV kai execeen thn fialhn autou epi thn ghn kai egeneto elkoV kakon kai ponhron eiV touV anqrwpouV touV econtaV to caragma tou qhriou kai touV th eikoni autou proskunountaV
16:2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and [upon] them which worshipped his image.

kai o deuteroV aggeloV execeen thn fialhn autou eiV thn qalassan kai egeneto aima wV nekrou kai pasa yuch zwsa apeqanen en th qalassh
16:3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead [man]: and every living soul died in the sea.

kai o tritoV aggeloV execeen thn fialhn autou eiV touV potamouV kai eiV taV phgaV twn udatwn kai egeneto aima
16:4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.

kai hkousa tou aggelou twn udatwn legontoV dikaioV kurie ei o wn kai o hn kai o osioV oti tauta ekrinaV
16:5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.

oti aima agiwn kai profhtwn execean kai aima autoiV edwkaV piein axioi gar eisin
16:6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

kai hkousa allou ek tou qusiasthriou legontoV nai kurie o qeoV o pantokratwr alhqinai kai dikaiai ai kriseiV sou
16:7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous [are] thy judgments.

kai o tetartoV aggeloV execeen thn fialhn autou epi ton hlion kai edoqh autw kaumatisai touV anqrwpouV en puri
16:8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

kai ekaumatisqhsan oi anqrwpoi kauma mega kai eblasfhmhsan to onoma tou qeou tou econtoV exousian epi taV plhgaV tautaV kai ou metenohsan dounai autw doxan
16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

kai o pemptoV aggeloV execeen thn fialhn autou epi ton qronon tou qhriou kai egeneto h basileia autou eskotwmenh kai emasswnto taV glwssaV autwn ek tou ponou
16:10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

kai eblasfhmhsan ton qeon tou ouranou ek twn ponwn autwn kai ek twn elkwn autwn kai ou metenohsan ek twn ergwn autwn
16:11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

kai o ektoV aggeloV execeen thn fialhn autou epi ton potamon ton megan ton eufrathn kai exhranqh to udwr autou ina etoimasqh h odoV twn basilewn twn apo anatolwn hliou
16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

kai eidon ek tou stomatoV tou drakontoV kai ek tou stomatoV tou qhriou kai ek tou stomatoV tou yeudoprofhtou pneumata tria akaqarta omoia batracoiV
16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs [come] out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

eisin gar pneumata daimonwn poiounta shmeia ekporeuesqai epi touV basileiV thV ghV kai thV oikoumenhV olhV sunagagein autouV eiV polemon thV hmeraV ekeinhV thV megalhV tou qeou tou pantokratoroV
16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, [which] go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

idou ercomai wV klepthV makarioV o grhgorwn kai thrwn ta imatia autou ina mh gumnoV peripath kai blepwsin thn aschmosunhn autou
16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed [is] he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

kai sunhgagen autouV eiV ton topon ton kaloumenon ebraisti armageddwn
16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

kai o ebdomoV aggeloV execeen thn fialhn autou eiV ton aera kai exhlqen fwnh megalh apo tou naou tou ouranou apo tou qronou legousa gegonen
16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

kai egenonto fwnai kai brontai kai astrapai kai seismoV egeneto megaV oioV ouk egeneto af ou oi anqrwpoi egenonto epi thV ghV thlikoutoV seismoV outwV megaV
16:18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, [and] so great.

kai egeneto h poliV h megalh eiV tria merh kai ai poleiV twn eqnwn epeson kai babulwn h megalh emnhsqh enwpion tou qeou dounai auth to pothrion tou oinou tou qumou thV orghV autou
16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

kai pasa nhsoV efugen kai orh ouc eureqhsan
16:20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

kai calaza megalh wV talantiaia katabainei ek tou ouranou epi touV anqrwpouV kai eblasfhmhsan oi anqrwpoi ton qeon ek thV plhghV thV calazhV oti megalh estin h plhgh authV sfodra
16:21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, [every stone] about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
